lyrics
It’s tomorrow that haunts me.
I found another trail. It’s all, busted pumps and broken oaks, and a sleeping bag full of mud.
Burn your clothes and bleach my skin. My boots are forever stained. I choose … to wear them.
Deep in the forest.
Lie down in the field.
Spread your arms and run through the meadow—the dirty yellow field. That bed is flat, but you’re not alone. The earth sees each step before it’s made, and you cannot lie about the places you’ve known.
But there’s redemption in the woods. Just keep your mind shut. Because the trees are full of ears so big they’ll listen you good and sing your fears, and regret will swallow you whole.
